Catherine Walcott, Insurance and Accounts Manager
My name is Catherine. I have worked in the dental profession for 30 years. I received my certificate in dental assisting from Lincoln Land Community College, Springfield, Illinois in 1981 and I am an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA).
I have lived and practiced dentistry for 30 years in Oregon. My clinical and front office experience have provided me with a broad knowledge of dentistry and the communication skills to help our patients understand their treatment and how to maximize their insurance benefits.
I enjoy working with Dr. Willis, our team and the time I spend at work. My husband, Kent is a retired Salem /Keizer middle school science teacher. We have raised our three children in the Brooks- Keizer area. We love living in the Willamette Valley and enjoy our time together bird watching, hiking and spending time with our family.
Teresa Torres, Receptionist, Spanish Interpreter
My name is Teresa. I am a dental assistant and front office receptionist. My front office dental experience began in 2008 as a bilingual dental receptionist in Woodburn, OR. I recently graduated from Concorde Career College in Portland, OR and received my dental assistant certificate.
My dental interest began during my teen years when I wore braces and went through the 3 years experience. It opened my eyes to the importance of dental care. My dental appointments were a great experience for me and my mission is to make every patient’s experience as pleasant as mine were. I look forward to many years with Dr. Willis’ team.
I’ve lived in the Salem-Keizer area for a good portion of my life. I have two children, Serena and Sebastian. We enjoy spending time with family and friends doing our favorite activities of camping, cooking, watching comedies and trying new things. In my spare time I enjoy drawing.
Kim Smoot, Registered Dental Hygienist
My name is Kim and I am a Registered Dental Hygienist at Willis Dental. I have been with this practice since 1994 and I enjoy working with Dr. Willis and his staff very much.
I received my RDH in 1987 after graduating from Mt. Hood Community College Dental Hygiene School. Prior to that, I attended Chemeketa in the Dental Assistant Program then worked for a short time as an assistant before going into Dental Hygiene.
I am a native of Salem and have three children. I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, skiing and exercise. Volleyball is a favorite sport.
Courtney Meuchel, Registered Dental Hygienist
My name is Courtney and I am a Registered Dental Hygienist. I attended Chemeketa Community College and received my EFDA (Expanded Functions Dental Assistant) in 1994. I continued my dental education at OHSU and graduated in 1997 with a Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene. I have been with Dr. Willis since July of 2008 and worked in the Salem/Keizer area the previous 9 years.
The Willamette Valley has been home to me all of my life. My husband Shawn and I married in 1998 and live in Keizer with our three young boys. We like to be outside with the boys gardening, bicycling, and camping. I also enjoy running, sewing, knitting, scrapbooking and canning.
Elizabeth Roberts, Registered Dental Hygienist
My name is Elizabeth Thompson. I am a Registered Dental Hygienist. I attended Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. I have always loved working with people and I always seek to continue my education in order to stay current with all the new dental science and technology.
I grew up in Turner, OR, and the Salem area will always be home to me. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, and I am a huge animal lover. I love to exercise and my favorite thing to do is to relax on the couch with a good book or movie.
Melinda Flanagan RDH, Registered Dental Hygienist
My name is Melinda Flanagan. I am a Registered Dental Hygienist. I attended OHSU and graduated in 2001 with my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Pacific Lutheran University 1999.
I thrive on the joy of helping dental patients keep their best smile. I am constantly seeking further education in the art and science of dental hygiene. I love your smile!
I am married to my high school sweetheart, Jason. We enjoy hiking and snowshoeing with our dog, Chief.
Taylor Miller, Expanded Function Dental Assistant
My name is Taylor Miller. I grew up on a 100 acre fruit farm in the little town of Parkdale, OR. Growing up I was very involved in various activities including volleyball, swimming, softball, basketball, and 4-H. After graduating high school I have coached high school volleyball and Little League softball in South Salem.
I graduated from Charter College in Pasco, WA with my dental assisting certificate in 2012. I have since fallen in love with dentistry and working with children, creating a positive dental experience. In the future, I plan on going back to school and continuing my education.
Yelena Stefanovich, Expanded Function Dental Assistant, Russian Interpreter
I grew up in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in central Asia. That is why I love sunshine, fruits and mountains. My family came to America 11 years ago.
In 2008, I graduated from a dental assisting program in Salem, Oregon and have my Expanded Function Dental Assistant certificate. Since then I have enjoyed working with patients and taking care of their smiles. I had horrible dental experiences as a child, so my goal is to help our patient be comfortable in the dental chair.
While I am not working at the office, I enjoy reading, hiking and traveling to explore new places. There are several things I’ve checked off my bucket list like seeing Paris, I’ve been in a hurricane, I’ve seen alligators in the canals of Florida and looking forward to where my next adventure may be!
I enjoy cooking and am trying new recipes. I love to spend time with my family especially with my nieces and nephews.
Kendall Pyper, DDS- Staff Dentist
I’m Kendall Pyper- husband of Lainie, father of five amazing children and associate dentist at Willis Dental in Salem.
I am a 2008 graduate of the University of the Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California. I’ve been working here with Dr. Willis on Friday’s since February 2015.
Originally from Utah, I have lived in Oregon since 2000. I really love dentistry, but I also love the outdoors, playing and watching sports, playing and listening to music, and I may play a quick computer game once in a while.
